If you are a C.A.R. member you must agree to this policy as a condition of your membership. We collect several types of information from and about our members and other users of our products and services, including all visitors to our Website irrespective of their membership in C.A.R. The types of information we collect include information:

• From C.A.R. members, information relating to your membership in C.A.R., such as your California DRE license number, your National REALTOR^® Database System (“NRDS”) number, your office address, and your supervising broker’s information (if applicable), as well as information about your use of our services and interactions with us or our affiliates, such as dues payments, donations to affiliated charities and PACs, and customer service or other telephone contacts;
• Relating to your real estate transaction(s), including personal information relating to your real estate clients;
• That is about you or related to you but does not individually identify you; and/or
• About your internet connection, the equipment you use to access our Website, and usage details.

We collect this information:

• Directly from you when you provide it to us, such as when you register for a webinar or purchase products directly from us;
• From other C.A.R. members when they interact with us, such as from your broker or another team member;
• From local associations of REALTORS^®, multiple listing services, the National Association of REALTORS^® (“N.A.R.”), or other state associations of REALTORS^®;
• Automatically as you navigate through our Website. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies;
• From third parties when you interact with our licensed products and services in their platforms, such as forms data that is shared with us by third parties that have licensed our forms for use in their online platforms

The information we collect on or through your C.A.R. membership, your use of our Website, or the use of our other products and services may include:

• Information that you provide to us as part of your ongoing membership in C.A.R.
• Information that you provide by inputting information to question boxes on our Website. This includes information provided at the time of posting material or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you enter a contest or promotion sponsored by us, register for services such as webinars, and when you report a problem with our Website.
• Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses) if you contact us.

• As one of the many benefits of membership with C.A.R., we make available on our Web site a searchable database of our members called the "REALTOR^® Directory."The directory can be used by the public to locate and contact our members by such characteristics as name, company, or city location. The member information made available through the REALTOR^® Directory is intended to contain only the business information of our members. Under no circumstances will we intentionally display or make available on our Web site the personal home addresses or phone numbers of our members. You can choose to opt out of the REALTOR^® Directory by following the instructions displayed below in Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information.
• For use by the members of C.A.R., we make available on our Website the names of members who are serving as directors or committee members of C.A.R.
• For other purposes relating to your C.A.R. membership, such as to provide you with notices about your membership, including expiration and renewal notices.
• To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection.

• Promotional Offers from C.A.R. If you do not wish to have your email address used by C.A.R. to promote our own or third parties' products or services, you can opt-out by using the Unsubscribe link found at the bottom of the respective promotional email, or by calling us at 213-739-8227. Please be advised that if you are a member and choose to opt-out of receiving promotional offers from C.A.R, this could affect your ability to receive other e-mail communications that are sent to members of C.A.R.

We do not control third parties' collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") on the NAI's website at www.networkadvertising.org.

Nevada residents who wish to exercise their sale opt-out rights under Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A may submit a request by calling us at 213-739-8227 or emailing [email protected] using the subject line “Nevada Privacy Opt-Out”. However, please know we do not currently sell data triggering that statute's opt-out requirements.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You can review and change some of your personal information by logging into the Website and visiting your account profile page. C.A.R. members who wish to change their membership information should contact their local Association of REALTORS^®.

You may also send us an email to [email protected] to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. However, please note that because C.A.R. members’ membership information is generally controlled by the local Association of REALTORS^® in which they are members, members may need to contact their local Association in order to correct membership information. We cannot generally delete your personal information that is controlled by local Associations or N.A.R. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

If you delete your User Contributions from the Website, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or might have been copied or stored by other Website users. Proper access and use of information provided on the Website, including User Contributions, is governed by our terms of use found at https://www.car.org/aboutus/site-terms.

Your California Privacy Rights

California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. C.A.R. is a nonprofit organization and is therefore not subject to the requirements of the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”).

Do Not Track

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a feature in some web browsers by which users can request that online services, including website providers and online advertisers, do not track the user’s web browsing activities. Our Website does not currently respond to DNT requests transmitted by web browsers.

Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our products or services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Children Under the Age of 13
